| The term mixed connective tissue disease refers to a group of distinct autoimmune disorders including
systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren's syndrome, progressive systemic scleroderma (PSS) along with its variant, the CREST syndrome, Sharp`s syndrome (mixed connective tissue disease, MCTD) and poly-/ dermatomyositis.
Despite the heterogeneity of those disorders a common feature of all systemic autoimmune diseases is the presence of circulating autoantibodies. These antibodies
are directed against parts of the nucleus and
the cytoplasm and for the most part exhibit marker
function for these disorders. The isolated determination of the individual autoantibodies is of fundamental importance for the serological diagnosis of systemic autoimmune diseases.
ANAcombi permits the simultaneous differential and
qualitative determination of IgG class autoantibodies against RNP-70 (70 kDa protein of U1-snRNP-complex), RNP/Sm, Sm, SS-A (52 and 60 kDa), SS-B, Scl-70, Centromere B und Jo-1. Each strip is vertically coated with the corresponding antigens. |
